Unlike other types of cables, such as Teflon™ or Polyurethane, Cicoil utilizes an exclusive process of encapsulating individual components in a unique, shock absorbing Flexx-Sil™ rubber jacket that renders them unaffected by repeated exposure to severe vibration, compressive force, G-Forces, flames, ice, steam, humidity, hydraulic oils, Jet Fuels (JP-8, JP-9 and JP-10), operational stress and the rigors of turbulent flight. This combination of features makes Cicoil cables the ideal alternative to molded flat cables, flex circuit, wire harnesses and bulky round cables in missile applications, including Supersonic and Hypersonic missiles.
Cicoil’s standard Flexx-Sil™ rubber jacket is flame retardant (UL 94V-0) and performs flawlessly when exposed to continuous frigid temperatures and severe heat (-104°C to +260°C), and for short periods of time (30-45 minutes), have successfully survived temperatures as high as +380°C.
Cicoil’s assembly technicians are certified to IPC J-STD-001, J-STD-001ES and IPC-620 Space Addendum, for cable soldering and crimping, and assemblies are terminated in dedicated work cells within a lean manufacturing environment. Every assembly is electrically inspected for all point-to-point and electrical values, ensuring that each-and-every assembly meets 100% of the quality standards required by the most critical application.
All Cicoil Assemblies have “full-lot traceability”, and each step of the manufacturing process is documented, follows approved & controlled procedures, and offers material certification / First Articles. Cicoil retains all inspection and quality records for at least ten years, so customers can be confident that the products they receive meet every specification and quality standard required, and that we have documentation to back it up.
